Trunk Shows F.A.Q
Not everyone knows what a trunk show is or that they even exist. Below we try to help you understand the basics of what they are and what to expect.
What is a trunk show?
Trunk shows are special events we have throughout the year, that showcase the featured designer’s newest styles, before they hit bridal salons! As bridal gowns often take up to six months to arrive in stores after they are debuted on the runway, trunk shows allow brides to get “first dips” on the newest styles! They also give brides a chance to see the full collection in person, as Bride & Bustle will only carry a select few from each season. As an added bonus, discounts and incentives are given on gowns by the featured designer!
Do I need an appointment?
YES! Trunk show appointments are required if you wish to try anything on. The appointments last one hour, and you get that time to work individually with a consultant, as well as having a fitting room reserved just for you! 😊
Can I bring guests?
Yes! We do ask that you limit your guests to a maximum of 5, as trunk shows are our busiest weekends of the year!
Can I try on other dresses in the store?
Absolutely! You have free reign to try whatever catches your eye! Though the trunk show discounts and incentives are limited to the featured designer and collection, we do not limit you to those styles! Gowns by all our designers are available to try on during this special weekend!
What if I have never tried on dresses before?
We welcome all brides to try on dresses during trunk shows, however we highly recommend doing a preliminary appointment to ensure you get the full bridal experience! This initial appointment allows you to try on different styles and silhouettes and narrow down favorites that you can always retry during your second appointment. Trunk show gowns are only at Bride & Bustle for a few select days, so we want to make sure you never feel rushed, as there are SO many beautiful gowns to try!
What sizes are the dresses?
As the dresses sent in for the trunk show are often brand new, the designer often sends the runway sample, as the collection has not been put into production yet! We occasionally get a few dresses from the collection in standard bridal sizes (10 – 12), however this is completely based on their availability. We do know that it can be hard to envision yourself in a dress that does not fit you, however our consultants are all trained to help you with this process.
